Saint Lucia Kings Unveil New Jersey for 2024 Caribbean Premier League Season

The Saint Lucia Kings have yet to win a title but have reached the finals twice in the past three years. Last season, they made it to the playoffs but were eliminated in the Eliminator match.

As the Caribbean Premier League 2024 began on Friday, the Saint Lucia Kings revealed their new jersey for the season. They will kick off their campaign on September 2, 2024, against the SKN Patriots, proudly wearing their new jersey.

The jersey, designed in partnership with T10 as kit partners for 2024, features intricate details and materials focused on player comfort. Its colors mirror the Saint Lucian flag, symbolizing the team’s fiery determination to secure their first championship.

Daren Sammy, the coach of the Saint Lucia Kings, commented: “The jersey colours reflect our pride in representing the nation. With Saint Lucia achieving success at the Olympics this year, we are even more motivated to put on a good show and be one of the contenders for the title. We cannot wait to get started.”

Faf Du Plessis, Captain, of Saint Lucia Kings further said, “I cannot wait to return to the field. Wearing the new jersey today has made me feel once again that I am a part of a bigger cause and has instilled in me a sense of responsibility to lead this team to the trophy. We will go game by game, keep our spirits high, and give it our all to make our fans happy.”

The Saint Lucia Kings haven’t won a title yet, but they’ve reached the finals twice in the past three years. Last season, they made it to the playoffs but were defeated by the Jamaica Tallawahs in the Eliminator match.

REVEALED | Rahul Dravid’s Son Samit Won’t be Able to Play World Cup Despite India U-19 Call-up

Young Samit Dravid recently earned a spot on the U-19 India cricket team due to his impressive performance for Karnataka in the Cooch Behar Trophy earlier this year. Despite his young age, he has demonstrated the skills and temperament needed for a successful cricket career.

Samit will be part of the national team for the upcoming multi-format series against Australia at home in September and October. Currently, he’s playing in the Maharaja T20 Trophy for the Mysuru Warriors, where he’s been showing strong form. Samit first gained attention by scoring 362 runs and taking 16 wickets in just eight matches for Karnataka.

But will he play the U-19 World Cup?

Unfortunately, Samit Dravid won’t be able to play in the U-19 World Cup. He was born on November 10, 2005, which means he’ll turn 19 just two months before the tournament in 2026. By then, he will be 21 and no longer eligible for the U-19 team.

When will Samit Dravid be in action for India U-19 team?

The India U-19 team will play a three-match one-day series against Australia in Puducherry on September 21, 23, and 26. Mohammad Amaan from Uttar Pradesh will captain the Indian team for this series.

Following the one-day matches, the series will move to Chennai for two four-day games, starting on September 30 and October 7. Soham Patwardhan from Madhya Pradesh will lead the Indian squad during this part of the tour.

Here is the India U-19 squad for the one-day series:
