Review Panel’s Confidence in Warner’s Future Conduct

“The Review Panel is more than satisfied that Mr Warner will not engage in any conduct similar to that which occurred in 2018 which resulted in the sanction and that the sanction has thus had the relevant quality of specific deterrence.”

Following the notorious ball-tampering incident in Cape Town, David Warner, who served as vice-captain at the time, was identified as the instigator of the plan and received a lifetime ban from leadership roles, alongside a one-year suspension from cricket. Steve Smith, the team captain, faced a similar fate with a one-year ban and a 12-month leadership ban, while Cameron Bancroft was suspended for nine months.
